Visiting the GreenLabs Dispensary? Here's What to Expect

Congratulations! You've been approved by the Maryland Medical Cannabis Commission (MMCC) to be a qualified patient in the state of Maryland. So what's next? 

Visiting a medical cannabis dispensary of course! But if you've never been to a dispensary, it can be intimidating. With hundreds of products available and countless behind the scenes information, it can be feel like a mystery. So whether you are a seasoned cannabis user, or just getting started, here are some tips that will help you have a stress-free experience and get the most out of your visit at GreenLabs.

1. Bring Your State-Issued ID and Your MMCC Card or Number

In Maryland, you must be at least 21 years of age to enter any cannabis dispensary. The state and the industry in particular are strictly monitored when it comes to this mandate, so always have your state-issued ID with you. Our receptionists and our budtenders always use your state-issued ID and your MMCC number to verify that it's in fact you purchasing. Think you can get in without it? Think again.

2. Be Prepared to Wait

Unlike other stores, cannabis dispensaries require that each patient meets with a budtender. You might be wondering what a budtender does. A budtender is a cannabis expert with knowledge on brands, strains, consuming methods, ailments and more! What's great about working with a budtender is you'll have a designated expert ready to help you find the perfect product and answer all of your burning questions.

This can result in waiting in our lobby for a short period of time. But please be prepared to wait a bit longer during peak hours or holidays such as 420. However, having a short wait time it's bad - it's a great way to take advantage of relaxing in our lobby, checking out our TV screens for discounts or events, and even shop our menu while you wait. 

3. Ask Questions

These days, with so many brands, products and strains even the most seasoned cannabis enthusiasts have something to learn. Fortunately, your budtenders at GreenLabs are well-versed in the items sold at the dispensary. Have concerns about how strain effects? Questions on certain consuming methods? Don't be afraid to ask questions! No question is a dumb question - the more you ask, the more we can assist you!

4. Bring Cash or an ATM Card

Currently at GreenLabs and most dispensaries in the state of Maryland, they accept cash as payment. Although this is starting to change in the industry, it's expected that with each transaction you are going to be paying in cash. Be prepared to stop by the ATM/bank before you arrive. Forgot to take out cash before heading to the dispensary? Don't fret! We have a ATM in our dispensary that's available for you to use. And remember to take out a little extra so you can show a little appreciation for your budtender's expertise with a tip!

5. Relax and Enjoy the Experience

We understand - it can be a lot! Even though the experience can be a bit daunting at first, your budtender and the dispensary staff are there to help you shop with zero pressure. We want your experience at the dispensary to be a good time, you're able to learn something during your visit, and you leave feeling that your questions have been answered.
