5 Fall Cannabis Infused Recipes You Have to Try
Fall is the perfect time to cuddle up with some warm blankets, football, and great food. Whether you're making something for a potluck or just want to get your medicine in an extra special way, here are some fantastic fall recipes that you can try. And it all begins with cannabutter.
How to Make Cannabutter
Making cannabutter is almost always the first step in creating an infused recipe. Once you've made it, you can essentially infuse any recipe that contains a large amount of butter or oil. In order to make cannabutter, you need approximately one ounce of marijuana per four sticks of butter, but you can make your own batch weaker or stronger depending on your preferred effect. The best strains to use for cannabutter are potent hybrids, such as Girl Scout Cookies.
The cannabis must first be heated to 240º degrees for approximately 40 minutes -- or until completely dry. Meanwhile, one quart of water should be boiled on the stove, melting all the butter into it. Once boiling, the cannabis can be added into the mix. The entire mixture should be simmered for 3 - 4 hours. The entirety of the liquid can then be strained through a cheesecloth to capture the butter. The cheesecloth can then be wrapped up and put in the fridge to set. Any water that separates from the solidified butter can be discarded.

- 1 to 2 ounces of cannabutter

Instructions: Preheat your oven to 340º degrees and place the pie crust in a tin. Combine brown sugar, syrup, vanilla, salt, unsalted butter, and cannabutter in a single bowl. Once smooth, add eggs and pecans. The entire mixture should be poured into the chilled pie crust and baked for approximately 50 minutes.
Hot Cocoa
If you're not quite up to making cannabutter, you can also skip the step. Hot cocoa requires chocolate sauce, whole milk, and cannabis. Grind the cannabis and boil it in whole milk for approximately thirty minutes. Once it's been boiled long enough, you can strain out the cannabis and make your hot chocolate like normal. Boil for longer (under a low heat) for additional potency.

Mulled Wine
If you're into something a little stronger, you can try a slow cooked mulled wine. Get together: a slow cooker (or large stock pot), one bottle of red wine, one sliced orange, four cloves, a quarter teaspoon of nutmeg, a quarter teaspoon of cardamom, and one half teaspoon of ground cinnamon. In the slow cooker or pot, combine all ingredients with the amount of cannabis desired: about a half an ounce to an ounce will make a pleasant drink. Slow cook for four to five hours or boil over stove for two hours. Strain before serving.

Almost any recipe that includes butter or oil can be made into an infused recipe. Just make sure the butter isn't subjected to heats that are too high, as you can burn off the precious THC. When making infused recipes, you can always adjust the potency by adding more butter or by making your butter stronger.
